Descript is a collaborative audio/video editor that lets creators edit recordings through their transcript. It brings recording, podcast production, captions and AI-assisted editing into one workspace.
What it does Cut media by editing text, record interviews in Rooms, capture screens and turn long recordings into clips. Underlord handles prompt-based edits; Studio Sound, filler-word removal, voice tools and translation help polish the result. Desktop apps support Mac and Windows, alongside browser workflows. AI edits and generated speech still need human review.
