About Ocelli

Ocelli is a Mac app that combines meeting transcription, AI-written notes and system-wide dictation. It is designed for people who want searchable meeting context without putting their recordings into a hosted meeting archive.

What it does Record audio from meeting apps, then turn the transcript into structured notes with decisions and action items. Notes are ordinary Markdown files in a folder you choose, so they can be opened in other editors or managed with your own backup and sync tools. A keyboard shortcut also turns speech into text wherever your cursor is.

Audio transcription and dictation run on the Mac. Summarization is a separate step: Ocelli AI or another cloud provider receives transcript text and questions, while Ollama enables a fully local workflow. Its optional MCP server exposes meeting context to compatible agents; live access is off until enabled. Ocelli’s privacy notice identifies Anthropic as the processor behind Ocelli AI and does not promise zero data retention.

Pricing — checked 21 October 2026 (USD) • Trial: ten meetings, plus an independent seven-day dictation trial. • Ocelli AI: $8/month, including model usage and updates. • Own-your-model licence: $79 once, including updates; use Ollama or pay an external model provider through your own API key. The licence is per person across their Macs. Applicable taxes are added at checkout, and regional prices can differ. Existing recordings remain readable after a subscription ends, but new recording and dictation require an active entitlement.

Their story Ocelli is made by Dominik Martin and operated by Renderei Martin GmbH in Germany. It was named Aside until October 2026. Its product direction emphasizes local recordings and portable notes rather than a cloud-first meeting database. The official pages reviewed do not publish a funding history.
