Granola is an AI notepad that combines your own meeting notes with a transcript of the conversation. It is designed to preserve the points you care about, then turn that context into useful summaries, answers and follow-up work.
What it does Capture device audio without sending a bot into the call, jot rough notes and let Granola organize them with meeting context. Ask questions across meetings, use templates and saved prompts, prepare briefs or draft follow-ups. Shared folders, integrations, API access and MCP extend the workflow on eligible plans. Apps cover macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, with Apple Watch capture also available. Bot-free does not mean consent-free: tell participants when transcription is running and review generated notes for errors.

Their story Chris Pedregal and Sam Stephenson started Granola in 2023 and launched publicly in May 2024. They built around augmenting a person's judgment rather than replacing it with automatic minutes. In March 2026, Granola announced a $125 million Series C led by Index Ventures, supporting its expansion from personal notes into shared company context.
